Frederique Constant Passion Awards for Charity

Frederique Constant hosted the glamorous Passion Awards for Charity Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street, awarding the American Heart Association with a $50,000 check for their charitable efforts to prevent heart disease and stroke.[[MORE]]

Frederique Constant’s Founder & CEO Peter Stas presented the check to Senior Vice President Helaine Baruch of the American Heart Association, witnessed by over 80 guests.

Just as Frederique Constant’s success was built on passion, the people behind the American Heart Association passionately go ‘the extra mile’ to keep America’s hearts healthy. Actress Candice Accola from CW’s hit show The Vampire Diaries attended to accept the check together with Helaine Baruch.

Helaine Baruch said: “Like Frederique Constant, the American Heart Association is also driven by passion. All of our work is done with one goal in mind – to create a world free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. That’s our passion.”

Candice Accola said: “This evening as we speak about passion, Frederique Constant has recognized the American Heart Association for it's passionate work in saving lives. The American Heart Association continues to remind us of the importance of keeping a healthy heart. And after all, doesn't passion come from the heart?”

The overriding factor for the success of Frederique Constant has been Passion. Passion that made Peter & his wife Aletta evolve from lovers of fine watches into global producers. This is why the company slogan has always been ‘Live your Passion’. And why for the third time, Peter & Aletta are proud to announce the Frederique Constant Passion Awards. Through these awards, they personally aim to reward charitable organizations that are driven by Passion, and celebrate and support their entrepreneurial success. The Passion Awards have evolved in to an institution through which Frederique Constant gives back to society, and namely to people that are less fortunate.

Peter Stas said: “ Driven by Passion since we started our company, Frederique Constant is very honored tonight to award the American Heart Association and their passionate projects to safe lives. We wish and hope that our donation will permit them to actualize their goal.” Winners of the previous editions of the Frédérique Constant Passion Awards are Dr. William Novick of the International Children's Heart Foundation and Mrs. Laura Cotton of the Paint a Smile Foundation.

Testimony of a Happy Frederique Constant Customer

Hey .....

I am not sure if you remember me or not, but my brother and I met you in Bloomingdale's New York (59th Street) a few weeks ago. We picked out a watch from you for our retiring employee who had been with our company for over 40 years. We ended up selecting the Heart Beat watch and I just wanted to let you know that he absolutely LOVED it. He wears it with such pride. Thank you so much for making the process so easy and for all your help. It is much appreciated.

If you are ever in New York again, please feel free to stop by our showroom. It would be a pleasure to see you again.

I hope you are well and wish you all the best for the new year.

Positive comments on brand new Maxime Manufacture

Maxime Manufacture Automatic

From the forum on www.EquationOfTime.com:

>> You know, initially I was going to say "boring!"... But then I got to thinking... Most current trends are to OVERSIZE, OVERSTUFF, OVERDESIGN! and this watch is the antithesis of those very concepts. I think part of my initial reaction was antipathy toward a maker with whom I am completely unfamiliar. This watch is classic, if a little monotone. The movement is beautiful. Yeah, I would not mind owning this. And I totally dig the radial numerals...!

>> I'll wind enthusiastically. I'd like to see a central seconds hand and perhaps a nibbled 5 & 7, but otherwise find little which requires complaint.

>>Awesome!!!! Love the Movement!!!!

>>No, not boring..... Especially that movement. Looks like a fairly unique balance regulation device there. The dial might have too many different textures, but I'd have to see it in person. I don't see the "old school Hamilton" thing, but it could be one of the VERY few radial numeral dials I could actually like!

>>Great back, great crown and a great dial, except for that date subdial. It's probably just me but I think it's really difficult to do the date radially like that. Whether the numerals go around the entire face or just a subdial, to me it's always looks jumbled. Date wheels, especially when matched to the dial, are a good thing.

>>Gorgeous design... I mean, really... that thing is a stunner.

Need we say more...?

Major Frederique Constant Passion Event coming up in Beijing, China

At the moment the preparations of the Frederique Constant Passion Event in Beijing are in full effect. On October 24 over 300 VIP guests and journalists are expected to attend this exclusive happening, which is taking place on various locations throughout this exciting city.

The event is organized to celebrate the re-launch of the Frederique Constant-brand on the Chinese market, with our new partner Xin Yu. With this company - being one of the largest watch distributors in China and with a vast experience in this field - the brand is on its way to become extremely popular under Chinese watch buyers.

In order to accelerate this process, Frederique Constant is proud to announce the appointment of its new brand ambassador during the evening program at Meilanfang Theatre. After the announcement all guests are treated to a passionate concert, performed by the world renowned Beijing Symphony Orchestra.

Please visit this weblog again soon to discover who will be our new brand ambassador and for pictures of this exclusive event!

Fredérique Constant invites its partners to talk watches

Beginning of September, Frédérique Constant organized its annual Distributor Meeting in Geneva for the sixth consecutive time. During this summit, the brand presented its overall-, its marketing- and its product strategies for the year to come.

With an exciting portfolio of new products for 2009, there was more than enough to discuss. During the various meetings, valuable comments and ideas were brought up by all parties.

Traditionally, the Frédérique Constant Distributor Meeting creates an opportunity for both the brand as well as its distribution partners. In order to satisfy market requirements, it has proven to be highly valuable to brainstorm on novelties in an early stage and to be able to make adjustments, without losing the unique and recognizable brand identity by carefully protecting its DNA.

The meetings normally result in the year-after-year presentation at BaselWorld of an internationally appreciated collection that accedes to a global taste.

It feels good to work closely together with a group of people that shares the passion for beautiful watches that we have here in Geneva at Frédérique Constant.

We are looking very much forward to launch the new products during the next BaselWorld, only six months from now...

Donation to ICHF

Geneva, June 12th 2008: Frédérique Constant donates a cheque of 50’000.00 CHF to the International Children’s Heart Foundation through its International Charity Advertising Campaign
In 2007, Frédérique Constant’s new advertising campaign for its ladies Double Heart Beat Watch Collection helped to cure children with heart malfunctions. Featured personalities will put their celebrity and passion at the service of the new campaign. For each watch sold, Frédérique Constant donated the cost of a life-saving heart scan to the International Children’s Heart Foundation. This is on June, 12th, during the second Ceremony of the Passion Awards, which was held in the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva, that Frédérique Constant decided to donate to the last year winner of the Passion Awards non-profit prize, Dr. William Novick, founder of the foundation, the totality of the donations gathered through the Charity Advertsing campaign.

Passion
Frédérique Constant timepieces are created with passion. Indeed, passion is the driver of our company’s success. With its slogan ‘Live your Passion’, we aim to attract customers who have a passion to succeed. With this new campaign, we wanted to share our passion and values by further contributing to charitable organizations.

The International Children’s Heart Foundation
The International Children’s Heart Foundation is a medical charity dedicated to providing free pediatric cardiac surgery to needy children throughout the world. To date, the foundation’s medical teams have provided life-saving heart surgery to almost 3000 children with congenital heart defects in 20 different countries. The foundation also aims to educate physicians, nurses and technicians in these countries – so that they may provide improved pediatric cardiac care to their own children in the future. The foundation was created in 1994 by Dr. William M.Novick. Dr Novick is also the co-winner of the Frédérique Constant Passion Award for 2007. More information: www.babyheart.org

Sir Richard Branson offers his Frédérique Constant watch for charity

Over 3000 guests gathered at the Hangar in Brisbane for the star studded evening hosted by Global Entrepreneur and Virgin Group Chairman, Sir Richard Branson, The Hon. Anna Bligh, Premier of Queensland and Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey.

Following a candlelit dinner from 8pm when event organizers switched off the lights for Earth Hour along with millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities, entertainers Marcia Hines, Rogue Traders, Evermore and Housequake kept the crowd on the dance floor until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Nearly $1 million was raised on the night for projects and initiatives under the theme ‘Indigenous Peoples, Natural Environment’. Amongst the array of 'money can't usually buy' items in the mega charity auction, were two Frederique Constant timepieces worn by Sir Richard and Elka. Sir Richard’s Limited Edition timepiece from the High Life Collection is a signature piece from the brand featuring the unique ‘heart beat’ movement.

The ‘Heart Beat’ watch first developed by Frederique Constant in 1994 features a dial opening revealing the mechanical movement (or its “beating” heart). In 2004, after three years of research and development, Frederique Constant presented its first in-house movement, the ‘Heart Beat Manufacture.’ The company has since become a member of the small and exclusive group of Swiss watch manufacturers that produce their own calibres.

Frederique Constant is distributed in Australasia by the AVSTEV Group. Steven Rom, CEO, AVSTEV Group, acquired the distribution rights to the brand in 2006.

Spotlight one our new home-page: Live your passion!

Genève June 24th, 2008: Frédérique Constant launched a redesigned home-page for frederique-constant.com. We explain the thinking behind the changes.[[MORE]]

Those of you who were familiar with (and even fond of) the previous version of the home-page will naturally wonder: why the change? We wanted to do three main things – make the pages simpler, deeper and more enjoyable for the reader. First, simplicity. The new page has a more consistent and clear layout. It is set-up as an online Newspaper page with headers and small introduction texts. The page is cleaner, with images that stand out more clearly to flag featured content. The main  navigation that runs down the left-hand side of the page, and throughout the site, is now completely visible right away, with no need to scroll down “below the fold”. By selection of a main category of content you can reveal more detailed sub-categories.

A second aim was to make the collection more readily accessible – strange as it may sound, to combine greater simplicity with greater depth. The collection can now be viewed in five main categories: “All Models”, “New Models”, “Men’s Models”, “Ladies Models” and “Pair Watches”. Via a special watch search function, customers can make a selection based on their individual preferences. Extensive details on the specification of each watch are available, as well as and an extra large picture. Selected models in the collection can be rotated 360°.

Our third aim was to make the page a more enjoyable experience. It shows not just extensive information on Frédérique Constant, but also more general information about watch making. Latest articles are randomly displayed on the home-page to make it come “alive”, so it will be worth returning to more often. Already ten short film features can viewed on the site. Last, but not least, the new site is available in 11 languages, enabling the majority of readers in the world to obtain information in their own language.

Introducing Frederique Constant Clear VisionTM

Genève, August 2007: Frédérique Constant introduces new Collection with Clear VisionTM technology. Self-activated light sources enable clear visibility during the entire night that is 100 times brighter than any previously available.[[MORE]] The light-emitting devices, also known as light tubes, require no battery power or any other form of external power supply, do not require the push of a button, never need servicing or  maintenance, and have a useful life of more than 20 years.

Frédérique Constant Clear VisionTM timepieces are top quality, Swiss Made, and extremely robust and functional. Moreover, they are equipped with the very best illumination technology available today. The “working principle” of the light-emitting devices on the Frédérique Constant Clear VisionTM timepieces is comparable to that of a conventional television tube. A very thin layer of luminous matter is applied to a glass surface. The layer is bombarded with electrons emitted by the tritium gas (H3), which cause the layer to light up. Whilst in a television tube, the electrons are generated electronically through the use of a cathode, with the Clear VisionTM self-activated light sources, the necessary electrons are created through the radioactive disintegration of tritium. The tritium decays to helium and in the process emits a low energy electron. The disintegrating electrons of the tritium have a range of just 1-3 mm in air and an energy of only 18 keV that is not sufficient to penetrate or leave the sealed glass tube of a Clear VisionTM self-activated light source. The ability to manufacture Clear VisionTM self-activated light sources is the result of decades of research and development work in the field of radio luminescence.

Clear VisionTM is registered Trademark of Frédérique Constant.
The new Frédérique Constant Index collection with Clear VisionTMself-activated light sources is comprised of five models. All models are powered by the delicately decorated FC-303 automatic calibre, beating at 28’800 Bph and viewable via a see through case back. The design of these classical models is ultra clean and functional.  Watches are presented on hand-sewn leather straps as well as on sporty elegant stainless steel  bracelets. The straps are fine-tuned to the colour of the dial and are available in light brown, dark brown, and black. Frédérique Constant revisited its stainless steel bracelets and put emphasis on their improved comfort and smoothness.
