2000 Kilometer durch Deutschland : 5. Etappe – Bad Wörishofen to Ulm– July 28th 2011

Today has been a bad day for the team #51! Alireza & Mathieu did a great start this morning despite of the bad weather conditions. The Porsche 356 did a nice score for the first time trial on the ABT VW tuning company, and then they have been riding the Allgäu hills before crossing the Austrian border. There, Alireza really enjoyed driving in the Tirol mountains before going back to Germany and passing along the beautiful Alpsee in Immenstadt where they enjoyed the typical Bavarian Lunch.

At the 201th km, the Porsche 356 Frederique Constant has been stopped by a mechanical break. The team has been waiting the assistance car on the side of the road for 40 minutes and finally went back to Ulm with the Schlussfahrzeug – last rally escorting car, where as the tow car was bringing the Porsche back to Ulm.

The Porsche had been fully checked by professional old-timer technicians: engine had been fully disassembled to find out that the clutch was broken. After few hours of hope and suspense, the team has learned that the Porsche won’t be able to continue the rally. Due to the age of the car the required spare parts could not be delivered before the next 7 days. Alireza finally managed to find a car to allow the team #51 to continue the rally and reach Hannover on Saturday! Stay tuned to know more about this new dream car!

Today Alireza and a new navigator - Mister Dreier Frederique Constant retailer - drove 160 km around the wonderful  Bavarian countryside. This bonus stage was an excellent opportunity to discover some beautiful highlights of south Germany such as Neuschwanstein Castle and the Forggensee - this man made lake was created in 1954, when the Lech river was dammed for the viagra first time to create the Lechsee lake. The option of letting water in and out reduces the risk of flooding when the snow melts in the spring and regulates the flow of water over the "Power Plant Step" located downriver. The day started with some rain drops and ended with a sunny sky allowing the team to enjoy the cabriolet!

The team was delighted to drive up and down the Allgau  hills with the Alps as wonderful  background.

Alireza and Mister Dreier were delighted to discover the BMW Alpina factory to find out that Alpina was not only famous for BMW Tuning but also for their wine cellar.
