The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games got off to a dazzling started on Saturday 14th August 2010, with the city's skyline providing a magnificant backdrop to a rousing opening ceremony dedicated to the more than 3,500 athletes in attendance from all corners of the world.

The 27,000 people at Marina Bay were treated to a two-hour show that showcased Singapore's rich history and celebrated the cultural diversity of the country's indigenous people and the young Olympians, aged 14 to 18, who will compete in the Games' 26 events.

The inaugural competition is designed to be a stepping stone for young athletes striving to compete at the Summer Olympics. And while sport will be the main focus over the next two weeks, there is a simultaneous cultural and educational programme to teach the athletes from the 204 participating countries about Olympic values and global issues.

Sébastien Schneiter - Frédérique Constant Junior Ambassador - will enter the competition with the Swiss Team on Tuesday 17h August. The most important now is to wish Sébastien all possible success in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to his good performance on the water. Sébastien - who started sailing in 2004 - had already been 3 times vice-National (Swiss) Optimist Champion (2007, 2008 & 2009). In 2009 at the Dutch Nationals, he took the 2nd place. In 2009 at the International Riva del Garda Optimist Championship (over 600 boats): he took the 5th place.  And in 2010 he won the Laser 4.7 Swiss National and recently finished 6th in the overall European championship and at the second place in the “less than 16 years of age” category!

  1. Hey Guys,
Is there any chance to get in contact with you? We've bought one of your watches, a beautiful design by the way, bu it broke in 2 weeks (strange things hapenning possibly with the Polish distributor). I don't want to go into details in a public place so an e-mail would be much appreciated.
